Blue key on Transit 62 plate 350 RWD

Postby johnthefixer » Sat Jun 30, 2018 1:10 pm

HI I hope someone can help, having read through a lot of posts and web sites, I have repaired the battery on my key fob and have 3v at the terminals ( it was broken away on the - side) but i still can not get the remote to work I have put it back together and even left it in the ignition with engine running to give it a bit of extra charge.

The key works in the door fine and all else seems ok but no remote lock or unlock. I read about the aux battery being flat but I have normal lights on dash when i insert key before starting the engine up so assume it is ok.

could it be a sensor or fuse for the remote unlock?

I have only just got the van and the remote was not working when i got it. Transit 62 plate 350 RWD

be amazing if there is an easy fix without spending loads on new key and programming.

Thanks for any advice or pointers in the right direction.

John

I haven't had any radio problems and all lights work on the dash. Just put a meter on battery and there is 12.8v with engine off and 14v+ with engine running.

the key works in the door/ignition but not the remote, there is two batteries i measured the voltage off the front one. does the sensor have any fusing?

still no idea why the remote is not working all fuses are good battery in remote has 3v, central locking works on key in door, aux battery ok. could it just be a broken remote or sensor? whats the best way to get a new blue bit for the key.

If you have radio code, remake earth connections on both batteries. As said the front battery causes c/l problems. Can you try another battery in its place or jumper cables onto front battery, if c/l works it is a faulty battery. If you are keeping van try and buy a genuine Ford battery.
