Transit mk8 rear seats into a mk7

Hi all newbie here just wondering if anyone had any experience in putting the mik 8 tourney rear seats into a mk7 seven swb any advice would be fantastic!

If the seats are the same as what is fitted to the mk8 17 seat bus the twin seats are quick release and if you have the rails that are bolted to floor you can maybe bolt the rails to the floor but use strengthening plate under the floor made out of 5mil+ steel pate the difficult part will be positioning the holes in the floor to miss x members and all the pipe work and Sod’s law they wil be above the fuel tank have a good look underneath before you start when I fitted a single seat in a mk3 I used the tie strap mounting holes and made a frame to bolt the seat to and added extra bolt through the floor wear I cude get reinforceing plats under the floor

Thanks! sounds like a plan! It is the seats that clip in and out. I take it that would be satisfactory for mot? The frame would be built by a friend of mine who’s a fabricator.

I had a single custom rear seat in my mk7, mounted the quick release brackets to the floor pan using spreader plates on the underside.
