Central Locking Module

Postby rickbacka » Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:07 pm

Hi

I have a 2009 Transit, today the central locking remote packed up.

Pressing the fob to open, the indicators flash but no doors open & locking - the horn sounds as if there was a door open, passenger door also stays deadlocked.

Have tried the key turning twice in drivers door quickly but nothing.

Had recovery, he checked fuses & suggests the central locking module at fault.

I was gonna try get one from a scrapper but, my mechanic says I would have to also change the ECU & key head, as they are linked, is that right? can i not just re-programme the fob to the new module?

Although I can still drive it, all my tools are locked in the back.

Thanks in advance

No seperate cl module on a mk7.

It’s intergrated into the body control module. Which is coded and configured to the vehicle.
The engine Ecu and key do not need swapped.

Simple enough to change over if you have the right diagnostic gear.
