Crankshaft sensor driving me nuts

Postby jacky » Sun Aug 05, 2018 6:00 pm

Had codes read at garage and crankshaft sensor replaced and EML reset... Light came back on within 20 minutes and engine running rough again. Took it back and replaced with another sensor plus checked wiring and it was all ok. Still again light back on and running rough.

Any ideas ?

Or the DMF could be disintegrating, cusing the timing to go crazy. The sensors themselves rarely fail, they either work or they don't.

The Reluctor ring is fixed to/part of the crank mounted backplate, can't see how it would affect position timing unless the ring or crank bolts come loose.

Right so it could be the camshaft sensor, it is saying correlation rather than circuit fault so does that mean just a synchronization issue? It appears to be running buy I'll say either the timing is jumped a tooth so it's borderline which confirms as running rough.

You need to check sync with diagnostics live data.
Could be a bad connection I guess but you'll need to ping both sensors, maybe remove the cam sensor to have a look if it is fill of dust.
