Just looked on Google and they look like large bump stops it’s possible that they will be putting to much load onto the chassis at the wrong point and on older vehicles it’s possible to damage the chassis

Hi Dumper thanks for the reply, the original bump stood on the right is nearly touching the spring but on the left its touching , there's 3cm difference in height from the floor to the highest point of the wheel arch! Might be new springs needed or hydraulic air kit

What payload model is the van campervans do tend to be near to the weight limit of the van most of the time your springs have possibly just got week over time .

Hi Dumper, the van is a 2005 T350 100 it's not a big campervan ,only 2.7 m high,2.3 m wide and 5.5 m long ,only sleeps two.The sumo springs look like a nice quick fix but obviously new springs or hydraulic lifting kit will take longer and at €100 Labour at my local garage speed is key,I might live in France but as my mate says "You can take the man out of Yorkshire but you'll never take Yorkshire out of the man " so I'm tight !!!

On my mk6 I put uprated springs it was the quickest and cheapest Lincolnshire way of doing it .you say it’s a 350 custom I didn’t realise they did a 350 i thought 320 was the maximum they did from posts on here.

Hi Dumper, the camper is a proper conversion from new by chausson,a French company ,maybe they up them a bit to compensate for that,it's not the fastest thing with only 100 bhp but the idea of a camper for me is steady away, much to the annoyance of other's

Springs and decent gas shockers like MONROE MAGNUMS would be your best bet

Hi Dumper, that would have been a idea before brexit happened, now the customs will charge import tax on any items brought in that are new,I recently sent my classic motorcycle crank back to Colin Appelbee in the UK for reconditioning and had to pay €30 import on something I already owned, the dounes ( customs) wouldn't release it until I did ! I still love living here though but do miss Yorkshire and the local pub :D

Stick them under the bunk or get them fitted over here I know southern Ireland is different to going to France but at the port they usually stop me and get me to open the doors to have a look in but they don’t look to bother years ago coming back they put the drugs dog in the back all I said was it’s ok when asked if the dog would do any damage to the fishing gear I said just don’t let it run off with the Andrex toilet rolls

Hi,sorry for late reply ,been renovating house and had internet troubles, just a quick update 're springs ,I've taken dumpers advice and decided to drive over to the UK and pick up the springs from Midland road springs, they do a triple leaf one ,at the moment I have doubles on that look fairly new considering the van is nearly 20 years old,a spring expert will understand the numbers on them 3c11-5560-AA ,probably Ford standard ,Don't think the chausson campervan makers will have updated them for the conversion!!!
Thanks for all the advice
