I had a problem with my transit today, just wouldn't go into any gears, only sometimes with a bit of force. Managed to get to the job where I was working and went on Google and had a look if anyone had a similar problem, which they had. Followed someone's advice and sprayed wd40 on the gear selector while moving the gear stick left to right to free it. This worked and now it goes into gear fine.

Oh ok cheers. I will see how it goes, if it does it again I'll replace bearing and seal. That's not a big job anyway is it?

Ok so I'm finding I have to give an extra push to get into 1st and 2nd.
All other gears are fine.
I have to push the gearstick down towards the ground to get into 1st and 2nd otherwise it feels like it hits a gear or bites a gear before I get it into gear.

Is this selector or cable problem as I feel it deteriorating slowly
