Hi all, I work on these things a lot, but I've not come across this problem before.
I have had a Mk6 tipper towed in, drove to site then refused to start - non start but cranks with the following codes.
P1664 - FIP Error
P1564 - FIP Demanding Reduced Fueling
B2139 - Pats Module failed to recognise the PCM identification.
Normally the if the first two codes pop up its a case of send the EDC off for a new transistor, refit and jobs a good un. But I fear that there is more going on here. I can clear the last code but it comes back after cranking. The immo light behaves as normall, no flashing once key in and light goes off.
I tried to match the PATs system with Forscan but it fails - eventually.
Recoded both keys, successful but still no start.
Using Forscan in the list of modules present I see this message 'This Visteon PCM dose not support reading PIDs from FIP module' not sure if this is normal, I don't usually get the Forscan out on the Mk6's.
Using Launch scanner I get exactly the same codes.
Anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks for any input.
Jay.
