Mk.5 Wheel/Rim size

Postby millertime_1985 » Sat Jun 07, 2008 2:17 pm

been looking about and wanna get some wheel trims for my baby... as the ones i have are the covers that clip (???) on over the wheel nuts ... but they are a bit scratched and would require a good and heavy clean and repaint before i could use them... not to mention that a couple of the wheel rims are a bit... rusty in places and i dont have the time, right paint or experience to do this properly.

anyway my van is a 1995/1996 Mk.5 150 LWB (personally i think she is more a MWB than LWB) heavy axle transit... (aka 6 studs) tyre size is 225/70/15 and its single wheels not twins wheels on the rear

i used to know all this stuff when i worked with trucks but its only one of the many things that i have forgotten

any help would be greatly appreciated

The normal way of measuring wheel rims/trims is using the tyre size (which is the inner diameter)

For example I have some 13" wheel trims here that are around 14" wide. But they are designed to fit on rims that take 13" tyres, hence they're sold as 13" wheel trims
