Rear disc replacement abs ring

When replacing the rear discs on a 56 plate rwd variant, how do I remove the abs ring in order to get the disc off the hub? Do you just smash it off and replace it? Or can you use heat to ease it off and back on (reluctant to do this as the oil seal is so close!)

Just use a prybar to prise them off, they aint very tight

As said, they will lever off without too much trouble

Just make sure you note how far on it was to start, so you dont tap it back on too far [or not enough]
