What do you guys think about this? http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk ... oductId=70 A possible upgrade for the Salisbury type G axle? Here is a picture of my spare 5.14

First impression is that the spline count is very different but I take it it wouldn't be hard to fit a matching mount for the prop? The bolt count for the ring matches @10.
I've also been looking at these guys... http://www.justdifferentials.com/Produc ... 44-411T-NG Thats the dana 44 I'm not sure they fit, they do have a 26 spline count and 10 bolt pattern. The ring size is 223mm which is close as makes no difference 8.8" so maybe this is a better match http://www.justdifferentials.com/Produc ... 8.8-411-EG

Thoughts gents?

I fitted an exchange transfer box from Ashcoft Transmissions to my Land rover 5 or 6 years ago. Really good service and it's still working. I have also just bought an exchange gearbox from them for the same truck. Excellent service again.

On the other hand, I'm off to Transaxle Services in Halifax for a new diff for my Mk 7 RWD on Thursday. New diff fitted with all the seals bearings etc., for slightly more than Ashcrofts want for just the CW & P.

T330 RWD now sold
Ford Ranger Wildtrack now sold

MI 5 sacked me from my job as an interrogator this morning, didn't like to ask why :?

Twin Axle CWP

Some time ago, KenB fitted a Mk6 CWP into a Mk1/Mk2 twin wheel axle. He used a Mk6 flange as the Mk1/Mk2 pinion has a smaller diameter spline. This was redrilled and tapped to take the Mk1/Mk2 prop joint.

I'm doing the same thing as the Mk6 CWPs are easier to find.

For info, I have found that the Mk4/Mk5 flange will also fit on the Mk6 pinion spline. Not sure about Mk3 but I would think that it is a good bet to be the same as the later pinion.

Cheers

Hi,

Do any of these types relate to the ATLAS axle, or is that a different code altogether?

Cheers.

I have a Salisubry (twin) axle with a 5.38 diff and a Timken axle with a 4.11 diff. Is there any (simple) way to switch the diffs between the two axles ?

I believe all six stud axles (up to, and possibly beyond) utilise the same spline count (33) and shaft diameters

been looking around for options, and as the mk8 transit is now sold in America, they do after market gear ratio options and lsd, they only list for mk8, but i would has at a guess our mk7 is the same dana axle as mk8 as far as crown wheel and pinion goes,

crown wheel and pinions from 3.08 ratio

and lsd for transit dana

We ordered MK8 crown wheel and pinions in as well as the bearing kits and they are nearly twice the size as the MK7 ones.

Aftermarket ones not available at the moment (from what I can see) But they will be at some point in the near future

MK7 and MK8 Axles are different. They had the same chassis when they changed to Euro 5 in 2011, so everything chassis wise is the same. After 2014, axle is different etc.

Hi all at Ford Transit Forum,I need yere help as I am going to buy a Mk7 3500 Rwd axle in the next few days from a scrappy and I was wondering if there is a way of telling the difference between a Semi floating and a Fully floating axle. My van has a total towing weight of 6000 kg so I am thinking that my axle is a fully floating axle, as I do not want to buy a semi floating axle and be left with it. Thanks
