I'm setting up a website to help learn more about the FDS 2000 diagnostic system (its not up and running yet)

I have been in touch with a few FDS2000 owners like myself who have them but arent trained in their use yet so hopefully this will bring us all together and share the knowledge.

I'm also in touch with an fully trained FDS2000 Ford trained technician who has also offered some assistance.

If anyone who has ANY info, pictures, stories, contacts, manuals or even spare parts could please get in touch I would be very grateful.

Someone with one still in use would be ideal!

Hopefully once the website is up and running and registering on Google and the likes it will attract some interest from others who can add to the knowledge base.

Will be putting this post on various Ford forums where the 1994 - 2000 models were covered by the FDS2000 but if you see one i've missed i would be grateful if you could post it or let me know about it.

Hopefully I will be able to create a link between the various forums and provide info on the various diagnostic and programming facilities available

8)
I'd break your arm off for one of them :!:

I heard that Ford dealers were simply chucking them out :!: Or chucked them into the corner somewhere, out of sight and out of mind

Glad you got your hands on one :D

I've actually got THREE systems ;)

One which i reckon has almost every possible option/ attachment and another two with bits and pieces..

They come up on ebay VERY occasionally but there are some out there in the back of old garages....

Hi Alan,

yep, let me know what you're after, I'm down in Cheshire most weeks.

There was a basic system and then all the optional extras (everyone I know with a system has the Maverick attachment) ;D

Are you the guy that was talking to Matt on Ford Scorpio forum?

I`ve got a complete set-up and a extra PDU,the batteries in both are shot though
They can be used using the VBA with a bit of messing,i`ve already been to maplins to price up the cells required to make up a battery pack.
I rescued ours from getting binned for the transit turbo (`92 & `95 gen) & key coding features, also because i had an k plate XR3i and my dad still has an L reg mondeo, both of which are pre 16 pin, therefore FDS only for diagnostics.
I`ve done basic FDS course & advanced engine management including RS,

Parts/spares are going to be hard to come by,they were all supplied by Genrad i believe,it is a bloody good piece of kit on `90`s stuff,i still preferred it when WDS launched (got a couple of them aswell in back up !)

I should have loads of training paperwork/manuals........ i`ll have a scout.

Airbag deployment lead was used for all removed airbags/pre-tensioners prior to disposal or return,we`ve set a few off in the workshop with it.

thanks for all the replies everyone, there,s obviously still a lot of interest in these, as for throwing one out well....... moving on, the main thing i need is the lead for star and dsl also a small connector piece for early epics which is the main activity its likely to get used for, i also have many genuine ford manuals if anyone needs for mondeo,s escort, etc generation and i think there,s a couple of wds training ones. also essex v6!! does any one have any good solutions regarding the battery pack please? mine are dead! and what voltage are they?
all answers are much appreciated everyone. if anyones close my address is wa8 8an? cheshire 07771 538516 alan.
