Thought so, hens teeth and rocking horse poo!!!

OK, what about a V6 cologne? Must be something out there for that. Looked at Lukes thread, that man is so talented, am veering towards the path of least resistance though

OK still looking for inspiration on which way to go here.

Have located a MT75 box with Pinto adaptor plate. Am I correct in assuming that the MT75 is the same box fitted to the petrol and diesel, but with the pinto you use the adaptor plate?

The big Q is, will the Pinto be powerful enough for the van

There is an adapter to put the type 9 5 speed (from 2.8 Cologne) onto an Essex but their a bit hard to find and tend to make good money when they come up, apart from that a lot of Scimitars had the 4 speed with overdrive, cant think of another way unless you know someone with decent fabrication skills to make up an adaptor.

I've got the part number somewhere for the bellhousing, I'll try and dig it out, and there was talk of someone down South reproducing them a couple of years ago, but I cant remember who

I think I will give up on the V6 Essex idea, I;ve done the V6 Essex with a 5 speed type 9 and the special bellhousing a few years back in a 49 Anglia then went the V8 route.

The pinto is a good lump but I bought a new Transit pick up back in 91 and that had a 2.0 pinto and 5 speed and was pretty slow on pick up.

Just liked the idea of keeping it pretty retro std, even the colour is going back as was but wanted it to go like stink, thats the reason behind the V6 Cologne with the 5 speed. The gearstick plays a real problem using the type 9 but there must be something out there. :o

May have to go the 302 route instead
