Yep
brought another - a 2007 MWB low roof with twin side doors. All van types are simular but with a Transit when theres a problem you can take it anywhere.

Its now Nov and no news from my mate which is good news

2003 T350 still cutting out after many new parts (Seems to drawing air into the system)

Van is at the 90.000 mark and is randomly cutting out hot or cold, high or low speed and high or low revs. The AA fault code was reading weak pump and it was changed twice thinking that the new one was faulty but it seems to be dewing air into the system. This problem has been going on a few months now.The van is in good condition as is well maintained. Its a friends van but I have been offered it at a good price as he has given up and needs a running reliable van for his business. It has been checked with about 6 different diagnostics and been in 5 different garages to get work done and nobody can find the fault and nobody wants the van back. The last garage said the fuel filter was less than half full.I have a 2002 2.0l MWB so if any parts that were interchangeable easy to try eg ECU etc

New parts include
Fuel pump
fuel filter and filter housing
Fuel lines
Tank cleaned
Injectors cleaned and re calibrated
New mass flywheel sensor and sensor housing
New fuel lines
Injector lines pressure tested

Thanks in advance

Did you see our pm from a couple of weeks go? We solved problem ourselves (new filter did nothing) - it was the wire loom running from diesel pump and travels around back of starter motor. It gets rubbed on back of starter and the wires can be eroded. This is what we found (just put some tape around the bared wire and pull it away from the starter and has run fine for 350km when before it was breaking down every few metres in the end! Worth a quick look - just get under van at front , find the pump and you'll see the bunch of wires covered with fabric type casing.

Here's the link from the posting that alerted us to the problem:

Let us know how you get on.

Hi, I've had a transit duratorq 02 for about 6 months now. Previous owner sold it to me knowing full well that the engine cuts out intermittently although it never happened to me the whole time and now seems to happen almost 3 times a day! Thinking (and hoping) that rubbed wire loom is the culprit. Does anyone know where to locate it as I have a slight oil leak and it makes life difficult finding anything underneath the engine

Hi ,

As we said before it's the big wiring loom that runs above the starting motor. Look for where it rubs on the starter motor and they may well be some bare wires. We paid 1000s to have fuel pump reconditioned and that didn't sole it - in the end just a bit of electrical tape and problem solved. Was cutting out a few times a day and since we taped up the wire done 100k and no problems...... Good luck......

I have had a new genuine ford fuel filter fitted about a week ago and am keen to find this loom to see if its the culprit...just have to locate it first!

Ok so I have checked the entire loom, its all still intact and wasn't touching or rubbing against starter motor so possibility it may be a fuel pump or injector pump issue now....errrr

So this is how my engine runs in it's finest hours. I have the accelerator pushed just over an idle without moving and it's all over the place...any ideas? Seems like a fuel delivery issue.

Sounds like your pedal is fugged...they're "fly-by-wire" and their little pot wears out over time.

Have you had the van plugged in to a diagnosis machine to read any fault codes. N
