Honest Testing Stations

Postby Kimblefade » Thu Aug 24, 2006 2:18 pm

My poor van has been knocked back on the MOT.
Reason for failure, some git whacking his chisel through the bodywork and claiming it adversly affects steering and braking
Got mate who welds dustbin wagons for a living to have a butchers and he agrees that this particular testing station probably has a young scrote who needs some evidence on welding for his NVQ.
Question: Does anyone know of a testing station in the Rotherham/South Yorks area that does only tests and no repairs??
(I knew it would fail as soon as I saw the "We do MOT repairs" sign on the back of the gate as you leave!!!) :x

Is the test station computerised? Time was when, in your position I would drive to another test station and get a second opinion. Not so sure you could do that now. If it's not on the comp system yet, go and get a test elsewhere. Luke and midnitclassix would be the best people to ask about test stations round your way.

Yes Fred I'm afraid it is the computerised version. Thanks for the PM Luke, could possibly use them next year. I think for the re-test I'll take it back with the repairs complete then if they try and fail it again I'll appeal as it's not driven an inch since then and bar something electrical going like a bulb etc they can't pull it on anything.
Just had another thought on why they possibly failed it!
They sell a lot of new vans

Searching is one thing but this is more like necromancy
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small
