Lucas laser questions, please read

Hi,

I purchased a lucas Laser2000 handheld diagnostic scanner.
It's nice, complete set with a lot of leads, some pods and even a breakout box etc. etc.
It seams to be in excelent condition.
I even found the epic transits in it. (not yet tried to hook it up to the vehicle...)
Probaly a nice deal, because it came rather cheap. (i think atleast)

I need this device to fix a problem on my MK2 campervan with the 1995 Epic Turbo Diesel.
So far so good.

My questions:
- Does someone have a manual or userguide for this thing? (pdf maybe?)
Or is there a location to download or view such a manual?

- With this device came a computer cd.
It's a original, Laser2000 diesel applications (Issue4) Cd labelled YDS500
It also mentions Delphi and TRW (when installed)
When installing I need a "responce code" to install the software....
I bought the device on a auction, the shop who owned it before me went broke (so doen't exist any more)
Where or how can I get an "responce code" for this software?
Or, how can I get this software to work?
I did try to find it on the internet, not very succesfull yet.....

- Is it still possible to buy parts for this device from the manufactuor or only by third partys?
I can't find anything online, I looked for Lucas, Delphi and TRW?
Does any of these firms still support this hardware and/or software?

The Laser 2000 is self explanatory, so not quite sure where you're stuck

Hi Andy,

When I turn my Laser2000 on with a "universal Diesel software module" I can choose the Transit Epic (amonsgt others)
So looks like its working.
My tranny is not arround, (stored for the winter) so I can check probaly next weekend.
So I was not connected yet.

Because there is a nice CDrom and a "pc to laser2000 hoop up lead" I sugested that it would be interesting to see whats on this cd........
Installing this software is where i'm stuck...... I'm always exploring the possibilties.....

The device itself looks quite self explanatory, but tips and tricks from manuals or experts will come in handy sometimes

As for TRW, In my opinion (some parts) of Lucas went to a company called Delphi, this company (or some parts of it) went to TRW....
TRW is a automotive firm.

Does it not give you any "year/model" when selecting EPIC ie Transit '92 or Transit '95

I have most of the Laser 2000 stuff and I am in Holland!
Or otherwise Sean at electratech is very helpfull; he has bought all of the old Lucas parts years ago.

The Laser 2000 is real easy to work with, but I can supply a user guide if you need one.

@Andy, yes it does give the Transit Epic my92 and my95 option!
Is my92 and my95 also the difference between the 3pin and 16 pin connector for diagnostics??
