Parts free to a good home

Postby Betsie Jane » Tue Sep 25, 2012 7:17 pm

Sorry I can't find the right section.

I am marinising a couple of 2.5 di and have these parts that are surplus and available free for collection. I'm near Beccles Suffolk.

3 alternators c/w vacuum pump, 1 new looking power steering pump, banana inlet manifold c/w some fuel management thing on the end of it, three exhaust manifolds, 3 fans and bosch oil filter. Is there some where on the site I can give them away ? They all came off working vehicles.

PS Can anyone tell me where to find the engine number on a 1990 DI as I believe there were two models that year. Thanks

If you have a spare Bosch fuel pump I'll take it :-)

could really do with an alternator. would you post one if i sent the funds to do so?
my advise may not be right, but I like to give my 10p worth, and an answer even if wrong is nice to see.

And sorry forgot, the engine number is usually on the nearside down by the engine mount.

Hi,
I've found the engine number exactly where you said on the 96 model however on the 90 model the casting is still rough and not machined to take a number. Ive wire brushed and cleaned with gunk back to bare metal and no number. Are there any other alternative locations.
Cheers

Funny you should say that because my '87 has the number there but the '90 one doesn't!
I think it may be on the underside, same side but on the face that the sump fits to.
I will look closer when the sun is up....
