Mk1 twin wheel brake backplates & fittings

Postby Eugene Speed » Thu May 02, 2013 4:53 pm

I have a pair of brake backplates along with all the shoe fitting bits (springs, handbrake levers, retainers) from a Mk1 twin wheel axle, approx 1970 model year. Just been removed from my van, free to whoever wants to collect them or send me some pennies for posting. PM me on here if you are interested. I also have brand new wheel cylinders and brand new brake shoes to fit, price negotiable.

confused. Do you have a Mk1 or your Mk3 have Mk1 parts?

lol I busted my County's Mk3 axle last year and was having a nightmare finding one with a 5.83 diff (to match the 5.89 in the front). Thankfully Luke had exactly that type of axle on his Mk1 fire van and wanted rid of it so I took it off his hands and fitted it to the County. I didn't get around to swapping the brake backing plates until last week, up to that point I had been running Mk1 rear shoes and cylinders which were not in the best of health. Now I am back to Mk3 backplates and brakes so the Mk1 bits are now surplus.
