Mk7 headlights

Postby HARRYSPADGE » Mon May 01, 2017 11:08 pm

Just fitted two new headlights on my MK7 so have the old units available.
Free to collect from Aldershot, Hampshire.
Both in very good condition, nothing broken on them at all. The only thing with them is that the lenses need a bloody good polish. The beam patterns are all good.
I've just replaced them because I didn't like the misting on the lenses, which in fairness is not horrendous, and they have not yellowed or discoloured. Just felt they were letting my front end down (OCD).
Have never had any problems with them for the MOT.

I'd say so. Looks like the reflectors are peeling on yours ?
As I said, the only thing wrong with them is the lenses need a good polish.
I polished them before and they came up really well.
Noticed they do UV repellant clear lacquer in Halfords at the weekend and was considering polishing them up again and spraying some of this lacquer on them to prevent the lenses fading again.
I had 2 brand new units already though so just fitted them instead.
For a little bit of time polishing the lenses and maybe treating them with some lacquer they'd be a perfectly good pair of headlights.
