MT75 Gearbox

Postby rover » Sun Apr 30, 2006 7:28 pm

MT75, Still connected to my old 'Pinto' engine (which ran perfectly!)

Come and get it before my new next door neighbour gets annoyed at it being on his side of the drive

Why did you remove the pinto? Did you go diesel? (sorry if it was mentiond elsewhere)

I replaced it with another Pinto which was still attatched to the Auto-box I got from TransitBilly, he said it was a good one and I had no reason to doubt him (and there was no clutch to inspect), so I just put it all in together and serviced it, its just as good as the old one :D

I will get round to dragging it onto my side of the drive before long
So it can stay here for a while yet, theres no hurry.

If you are thinking of dropping the engine in to a van/bus/ whatever I would suggest doing the valve stem oil seals (easy job)as it puffs blue smoke for about a second on startup, I was going to do them but never got round to it, it has an almost new cambelt kit on it too (done about 3000miles) ,the gearbox is faultless and you can have the prop as well if you want it.

Ah, good point! At least I will have the gearbox connection for my prop, so the prop will still come in handy.

Ahh but the prop I have is from a LWB, I cant say for sure about the front end but I think it was my original prop that I had converted, so in theory the one I have is all from a 1990 Minibus auto, only it now has the flange for the MT75 box......Did any of that make sense??

I have only just finished work and I'm knackered :?
