Postby dachre » Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:58 am

My old donor van for my camper project has to go.

Think I'll keep the engine as its only done 80,000.

Anybody welcome to take bits off before it goes next week.

Cheers.

The front mud flaps are a no longer available part, so try and save them

So why do MK3 owners tell me that MK4/5 mud flaps don't fit :?:
Different part numbers and no longer available :!:

ok, well the bumpers gone now....

Does anybody need anything off the engine? Those engine mounts look different to my MK5 ones.

I took the mudguards off, not in the best of shape as the steel has started to rust inside them and started to swell up, ect.

Ford Part Numbers.

DRIVERS:
86 VB 16 A 562AA. G18013.

PASSENGERS:
86 VB 16 A 563AA. G18013.

They don't even look close to fitting my MK5...... But then again I rebuilt that whole inner wheel arch area out of beaten sheet steel... I'd be very surprised if MK5 ones even fitted... ....

Image

But this is a funny thing.... when I took the mudguards off the MK3 there was no real rustproofing behind them... no under-sealant, stone-chipping or anything. just painted steel.... the rest of the inner wheel arch was fine.... just not behind the mudguard.

Image

Perhaps the mudguards get put on after the paint is dry but not before the under-seal is dry and the mudguard pushes all the under-seal out of the way.

Anyway, the mudguards are here if someone wants them.

Cheers... :D ..

Why didn't you take the front bumper off first instead of cutting it up? Madbri said he wanted it for Alan N

I only have so much time Trigger, but I don't mind getting easy or rare stuff off.....

And AlanN said in this thread "Too far away for me to come just and have a pick at it..." ..So it got cut up....

And probably because you can still get these bumpers easily.

Are the back windows still available? Not sure when I'd be able to get over though.
