got the gearbox back in today, still not fully connected up and its just started raining so i'm fussed over finishing it today :)

rather than struggling like last time ive made a plate for the jack which is basically a flat plate with some bar welded on that locates into the top of the jack then ive taped an old car mat to it for a non slip surface. so i can just rest the box onto it then jack it into place - worked a treat 8)

But watch those very nasty and extremely dangerous jacks  They collapse :!:  with a bit of Transit pressing down on them :!:

Come on then :!: Is it running yet :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

And no driving until the gearbox fluid is up to the mark :!:

took it for a run and loads better so it definitely was the gearbox 8) 8)

still not 100% as ive not got the brake switch mounted/connected - this makes the ecu think the brake is on so it limits power but its back useable and weald ready

it is certanly better than the last one but i tried it against stus yb mk6 van and after about 50mph his just carries on pulling and this just seems to rev up - i need to get the rev counter and boost gauge sorted so i can be certain whats up but it doesnt look good

Can these electronic boxes stop locking up if the communications isnt right! Have you been on one of the other 2JZ-GTE forums like driftworks and so on?

we (andyg and me) thought that before but tried it in manual mode and it was the same - i could try it again on this box, thing is its better than before without doubt there is a steep hill near me and last box it wouldn't do 30 up it this one, i didn't measure it but it was more than 30 for sure :)

i think i need to get the revcounter and the wiring sorted before i take this box out :!:

i'm on the US supra forum and a few others but the UK one seems to be full of who to take it to advice not how to fix it :|

Mmmm, not sure if there is an Australian Forum as they are big fans of this lump as you know.
Lets hope its just a matter of completing the wiring

well I've bought another torque converter - clutching at straws but it would eliminate a potential problem and I've also bought a dash with a rev counter in it so i can be 100% certain its slipping :D
