Ambulance conversion to a nightclub

Postby jonathan050975 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 8:26 pm

Have a look at following website under 'gallery' and 'Tidy Weekender 11' for photos of the converted ambulance: -

http://one.fsphost.com/causeandeffect/

Spec includes: -

2 x studio quality turntables, pioneer mixer, CDJ's, 400W RMS PA system, mini ITX PC, flat screen monitor, red carpets, underbody neon kit, UV lighting, decals, - all done in 2 days of very hard work with fingers red raw from stripping and soldering cables.

Of course being a transit it suffered no ill effects and performed faultlessly both whilst playing to crowds and on the long heavily laden journey.

A few different famous house mudic DJ's want to hire it for running raves in the summer!!!

Ambulance conversion to a nightclub

Postby jonathan050975 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 9:25 pm

No plans as yet, although there are a few ideas brewing!

the original plan was to drive ambulance home and strip out the essex V6 for my Reliant Scimitar as it is low compression thus ideal for turbo's and scrap the remains of the ambulance.

However, the van impressed me on journey home and is certainly different and surprisingly practical, it passed the MOT and has 6 months tax on it so we did it all out as per the photos for that one dance weekend, now we are puzzling what else it can be used for. The engine is coming out in a week or so for the scimitar but the high compression twin choke essex from my scimitar could occupy the vacated space which would give useful performance gains over the existing unit, we also have a scrap 2 litre pinto transit with 5 speed box that could donate its mechanicals if necessary which may be a more economical solution.

Ideas suggested so far include full A Team graphics with chrome wheels(!) or a smart metalic or pearl spray job and convert it into a day van.

Who knows? All suggestions welcome as long as they are different - lets face it white campers have all been done before........! No offence meant to anyone with a white transit camper obviously I just like things that are as original and different to the normal as possible.

Certainly brings a new twist to the phrase 'mobile DJ'. It seems an ideal solution to car show music, but to do customs and rods you would have to do rockabilly shite. Base colour with a few graphics would look good.

Well done, I like it!

You could have the 5 speed, if you fit a pinto. You would need the adapter plate and the prop (they might all come with a donor van) , but I don't see why it can't be done.
