another wee update with this project....

as i had a bit of material left over i decided to make a pair of 3 ft ramp extensions to just leave over the existing 6 ft ones for loading very low vehicles etc.

i made up carriers for them to slide in under the middle of the body from the r/h side.

they will be held in place by spring latches from underneath.

now that i have all the mocking up work done the body could finally come back off the chassis.....

next job was to hook up the tow pole...take advantage of the dry day,.... and get the chassis/cab to the bodyshop...dont know whats goin on with that pic lol!!

Image

with the chassis/cab away for bodywork and paint the next job is to finish any bits of welding on the body which couldnt be fully accessed on the chassis,...get it ready for blasting/dipping......and finally get this puppy fitted which arrived yesterday!!

thats all for now!!

another bit of an update on this project.....

with the chassis/cab away at the bodyshop i got the last few bits finished on the body...

got the winch mock fitted.....

Image

and got a bracket made up to fit the spooling guide that came with the winch.

Image

Image

the body is now waiting in line to be shot blasted to remove any paint and heavy rust before it goes for galv dipping......

meanwhile ive been calling into the bodyshop a couple of times recently to take a few progress pics.....

the lads are going well on it considering that they have only put a couple of good saturdays into it so far!

cab is now in primer ready for rubdown and paint.

its deffo heading in the right direction at this stage,.....next job is to pick a colour,...ive decided on a light blue to keep it period looking.....just need to pick a shade. one of the nicest parts of a project!!

will hopefully have another update soon!
