so id like to report our run out to the pod was all good, well we got there ok, but the journey home was not so
DSCN1783.JPG

was supposed to be taking the hotrod, but didn't happen, so we still went and crewed for a mate instead, left the pod early on the sunday and got stuck in a load of traffic in Bedford town centre and although the van didn't boil up, it did suffer fuel evaporation and died at a set of traffic lights :lol:thinking it might need some vents in the bonnet to let the heat out, let it kool for 20mins and we were off again, will need to sort out a set of rear springs for it as its toofukinlow, will put an add in the wanted section
cheers :)

while I got it in bits again, decided I wanted to do a front brake upgrade to vented disc and better calipers, already bought a pair of mk5 discs ages ago, and will be swopping the wheels again, so will be fitting these to my modified hubs, pcd changed to 5x100, counterbored brake disc bolts and had 75mm  machined of the outside diameter of the hub face.
before

after
transit mk2 199.jpg

these are actually mk2 transit hubs, as you get an extra 1/2 clearance on the arch to fit a 7 inch rim and stay legal
after a bit of searching, got offered a nice set of calipers which hopefully will do the job, pics to follow
more soon :)
