He was driveing a Nissan Premera havent seen his car or the pics as yet as he leged it before I could ghet to my front door after hearing the bang (thaught at first my doubvle glazed front window had been smashed ) luckerly negbours where in the street at the time and got his reg plate I called the Police imediatley and within 5 mins of the incident he was in custody ,for leaving the scine of an accident.Lucky for me he was insured I now have a mk6 hire van courtsey of his insurance (till they pay out) got to say Im not that impressed with front wheel drive but appart from that its not a bad van ,why Ford went front wheel drive is beond me , its tail end happy when loaded in the wet and oversters cronicley when cornering under power. It is looking like a court case on the pitza driver as he is comeing up with alsorts of excuses for not stoping and for the cause of the accident ,after all he was on a straght road , his latest is a cat ran out infront of him ,although non of the whitnesses saw a cat ! .

Leaving the scene should be an instant licence loser if you ask me, too many assholes get away with it His insurance company wont want to go through the courts with this Andy, they might stall a while but they will roll over in the end, your van was stationary so they know they have no case right from the start, and him leaving the scene is as good as,if not better than admitting liability

sorry, didn't read the whole thread, so i take it he was driving a car? is this guy insured to be delivering pizzas? because if he's delivering he would have to have business insurance, which is probably very unlikely due to the cost. i hope it all works out for you

The only wriggle the insurrance company may have in their favour is if you were parked up against the flow of traffic, whilst the damage can't be contested the 'blame' can be put on a greater percentage to yourself. Not saying that this is the case but if you were parked the wrong way then they WILL use this against you. Also very likely that car wasn't insured for 'Hire and Reward' more likely just regular 'to and from your place of work' not that you will ever get told this as the police will prosecute based on what the person's insurance says and they will not tell you that they are prosecuting him (other than the leaving a scene of an accident), if they DO tell you they are preceeding with a court case (both counts) then you will know that you are very likely to get nothing as it will indirectly say that the insurance was incorrect, so you will have to sue the individual for which the likelyhood of you getting a penny is very slim. Your own insurance company 'may' then pay you out but count it as a claim from yourself. There is a slush fund to pay for this kind of thing setup by insurance companies but they pay the minimum costs. I had an accident years ago where I was hit from behind and spun into a parked car, the parked car was written off but the guy who hit me denied to be the driver, much like with the traffic cameras you have to say it was you driving for the police to prosecute the right person, result was I got repaired, the parked car was paid out BUT it counted as a claim on my insurance

Good news here is he was insured my leagal cover insurance are takeing care of the case now(a certan dog is geting his butt kicked !! LOL) Van was parked in the correct orientation outside my house.

More news his insurance have addmited full liability ,he was in court on the 12 and pleaded guilty to falling to stop and driveing without due care,case has been ajourned to sometime next month.
