Haha :D Saw them on ebay and was hoping one of the 'Massive' would pick em up 8) They look the mutts, what colour are you thinking of and maybe some of BrownyV6's fibreglass centre caps
Managed to get 185's for the front to get mine under the arches and the 245's are maybe a tad outside

Yes, definitely need centre caps, Will probably do them gloss black, the fronts on these stick out a bit, narrower tyres would be better, but there like new so might just wear em down then replace them or if they catch the arches on the million and one speed humps we have might just sell them on and put 185`s or 195`s on :D

Nice looking tyres Al and not to far from me :D . You say BrownyV6's fibreglass centre caps, did he make them or acquire them?

He made a mould, might be worth asking him, but I know he is very busy of late. Have a look at this page

Been out enjoying the van when the weather lets me, but one thing that has been bugging me for ages, when I took the MK5 mirrors off, I noticed that the drivers side mirror was from a MK4, but I couldn't find a replacement, even ones I brought from ebay where wrong.
I mentioned to BrownyV6 that was struggling to find a MK3 mirror at the last Essex meet and it just so happened he had a spare in his garage  a week later it arrived by post :D big thanks mate 8)
Heres the difference in size

The mirror you took off was not a Mk4 one.

It's off a Mk3 minibus.

Mk4 mirrors have a shield rivited to the top to

direct air over the glass to keep it clear...

Thats interesting, just thought it was MK4 one without the deflector, as I could only see one listed in the MK3 parts book, although it does only go up to 1989, but the MK4 one has both mirrors in.

Had a pair of the larger minibus mirrors on my '87 190 bus back in 1989

Still got one, back in the cave, from the bus your engine came from 8)

Hmmmm! it might of been easier to go to the larger ones instead, oh well, sorted now, I like the smaller ones  Even thou its a few centimeters shorter, Ive not noticed any difference while driving, still see down the road and wheel for reversing, just a little less sky.

Seem to remember you telling me you couldn't see a thing out of Mk3 Mirrors when you fitted the Mk5 ones

You'll be fitting a Mk3 grille next

Oh yes, the MK5 mirrors are brilliant, but as time has gone by, I wanted to make the van look her age, but I still like my MK3/MK4 grill, well for now anyway

Starting to miss the blind spot mirrors  especially the guy I cut up today
Fitted new sliding door middle and bottom rollers tonight, also swapped the top one over with my old MK3 one as it rumbled, as if it had a notch in it!!! WOW! how smooth is that... Took a few attempts to get square in the hole :D
I also picked up a new MK4 door latch mechinism, I think its for the drivers door, looks similar anyway. Might trail fit it, one night this week, as Im sure the MK4/5 has a different fitting on the B post!!!
