I was going to get AA relayed, but it was quicker to go on the tour, go down the pub afterwards and come back later with a fresh head...

Winchester is a nice sedate, civilised place. I wouldn't have been worried about leaving alans van there

I had the glove box out and all the sound proofing and I did find a little water sitting on top of the alarm! so that could be the problem, but I couldnt work out where it was coming from, maybe from the bolts holding it to the bulkhead panel. Weather hasnt been too good to even get out there and have another look, even after all this time, I still dont have any switching power to the fuel pump relay, even though I have bypassed the alarm feed... Needs a a nice day to get out there pull the wiring out

Ive had a little look today, alarm seems to be working as normal now, so I reckon it got wet via the bolts through the bulkhead, so I'm going to sort that when I get a chance, maybe move the sounder to another place, out of sight and extend the wiring and weld the holes up. But I still cant work out why the fuel pump relay wont switch with ignition, fitted new relays etc. but nothing, so Ive now got to look at the ignition switch, but I didn't have time to strip the column and clocks out to check.
Washed the van for the first time since Southampton, its a mess underneath and all the ali parts have corroded due to road salt, its a good job its all comming out in the spring to do gearbox. So that will be a good time to get my new employer BCW to strip & paint engine bay and to make my new exhausts, mounts, brake lines etc. while I refurbish engine 8)

Sounds good - your engine bay was pretty pristine before!
