Brought a few, OK a lot of new small fixtures and fittings off ebay recently, so being a dry day I thought I would do a little job Ive been meaning to do for a couple of years, namely change the door release handles from a pair of new ones Ive brought and fit the chrome ones from a Granada MK2, plus fit new trims around them.
Dead easy job, don't know why I haven't done it long ago, but its just a matter of knocking the pin out, noting which way round the fitting come off and substituting the black pull Handel for the Granada one.

Nice 8)
Alan, might you be interested in some silver grey velour curtains?
I have a box of them from a motorhome which I bought for the MatttBlackMinibus but never used.
Didn't pay much, you can have them if you want them.

Thanks Martin, got a small pile of new bits to chuck on over the next few weeks, but planning getting the engine bay painted and autobox change when the weather warms up a bit, but Im having a problem on what colour to paint the van now... I was thinking of Ford pearl white or electric white, but I quite fancy one of the newer colours, which I think is Ford Candy Blue, but the pictures I have seem a bit darker than Ive seen on the road.

Postage with Royal Mail I would expect to be £5.50 ish. Courier (up to much greater weights) probably the same ish. Go figure.

chrome handles are a nice touch
(idea what about a blue led behind to light them up )
alans detailing is as usual second to none
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

Hi Alan,

I stumbled accross this build thread purely by chance, I was having a random day on Wikipedia, ended up on the A-Team and
searched for A-Team Transit van, one of the pics took me to the middle of this thread lol, just spent the last 2 odd hours
going thorugh it, thoroughly enjoyed it, never seen a build thread this large before, i'll be watching this with much interest,
if you need any info on LED's for switches or dials etc let me know. ;)

Thanks for the comments Charlzy, its always an ongoing thing, I have few things planned for the warmer weather
Talkin of LEDs, why do the off the shelf ones keep failing... the bulbs I fitted the dash are starting fail on a regular basis  but the ones I fitted the buttons are fine, Chinesse junk I suppose

All the LED I get are from Hong Kong lol, might just be a bad batch mate, done loads of switch conversions,
did my Mk5 Escort Cabby Switches Red and my Mk6 Cabby Switches white, did a mates OEM green but they
looked loads better, what model of bulb do you need mate as i'll throw some ebay links your way. ;)

Been tinkering with LED's for nearly 10 years now, no expert but I get by.

My ROVER 25, all LED swtich conversion, OEM orange back light but an Orange Indicator lamp for the heated
rear screen, blue for the Air-Con, White for the Front Fogs and Red for the rear.

Similar theme on my ROVER 400.

Went a bit OTT on the MGF heater dials. :D

This might interest you, the interior light wasn't to my brightness levels so I put in 2 warm white LED
panels, the pics don't do it justice, its obcene brightness lol.

Got the bonnet catch assembly going in next week and bottom sliding rail off the side door if I can get it cleaned up enough. I can think of a few other bits I want to do, including throttle linkages etc. 8)
