Thanks for that.

Im hoping to take it to Wales for new years eve celebrations, if i dont do that then it will be easter.

Im going to get a motorhome cover for it over the winter, to protect it from the elements.

Fitted an Accuspark electronic ignition today, these are such good value for money that i cant see why anyone would have the old points system anymore.

So simple to fit as well, one wire onto the negative side of the coil and the other to the feed on the ballast resistor. Then get your timing light out and reset the timing, and there you have it, runs lovely.

I needed some blinds for the rear windows, so the cheapest place was Ikea, got 3 black out blinds for £26.00.

I had to cut the 2 smaller ones down in width, but that was no effort. All i need to do now is fix some curtain net wire at the bottom so i can tuck the blinds behind when they are down as they hang forward.

Fitted a gas bottle today as well and pleased to say i have no leaks and everything works fine, hob, grill, fridge and oven. Ive yet to test the hot water boiler, but i did check the 240v and water heater works fine on that.

Im in two minds now which one i like the best, Althought the white one is ultra low mileage and superb condition inside and out, and is a good show vehicle as well as a everyday camper.

The Ci in my mind has a more open and airy feel to the interior and of course the V6 also helps, but i know the paint job isnt perfect and its had loads of welding etc etc. But there is heart and soul gone into restoring it and that makes it a bit special.

One thing that the CI has over the other van is a king size bed, no more fighting over whos got the most of the bed

Anyhow connected the gas boiler up today and it fired up straight away. Reeesult! Thats the first time ive ever tried it. Cassette toilet flushes as well, so thats 100% success rate on all the fixtures.

I also went over the roof joints again with fibreglass paint, just to make sure its winter tight.

OK, so its time to add up the resto costs so far. Ive kepts good records but not 100% as there are many small items that would have been forgotten about.

So im doing a guessing game. Can you guess at the costs so far, thats to include the initial cost of the van, the donor caravan and everything inbetween, ill let you know the closest guess within the nearest £100.

Good luck.

well we know you have spent more than £1395 because you gave us the purchase price of the van and caravan...

Im guessing £3700
