I had to run a couple of extra wires for the ignition and lights, ties in with the decor
I was going to fit LEDs to the Mondeo clocks, but they are the wrong size...
CB is still in the glove box... not sure what Im going to to with that. I want some white LED interior bulbs, but they dont work the way the power is. :( looks like I will have to make my own

Sounds like like the alarm is wired up wrong then.

All the door buttons are wired to the alarm... I will just bunch a whole load of white leds and solder them to a bulb bayonet

What alarm is it? Some have a voltage sensing wire which should be connected at the fuse for the interior light and others that connect to the door switch are earth switched, not forgetting that the interior light is earth switched.

I've fitted a few alarms before and have never had to swap the wires round on the interior light. :?

Ive been meaning to get on and finish the dash surround and thanks to Thrud, who gave me a transit/mondeo clock surround, I started to make the mould last night.
Image
I had a couple of go's at cutting the two surrounds, which I ended up regluing back together, as it just didnt sit at the right angle.

Happy with the angle, I screwed them together and bonded them together with P40 fibreglass, not a pretty sight. Once set, using my favourite isopon bumper fill, started to blend in the joints between inner and outer contours, trying to make it look like it was made that way. Rubbing down with 80 grit and the electric sander, gave the right sort of shape and was starting to look like Ford could have made it

ImageWell, the mould is just about finished and Ive given it a quick prime and a splash of satin black, a quick test fit. If I gave this some more time, I could end up using this as a finished article, just needs a quality paint job, but Im still looking forward to seeing a carbon mould, which still havent been given a quote for as yet... Looks better in the dashboard, than the rough finish on my shed bench...

There was a very good how to that I found years ago for wrapping items in carbon fibre, I will see if I can find it for you.
