Now reached the end of how far we can go with remapping and tweaking the 85PS before it becomes unreliable, expensive (bigger turbo, injectors etc) or something breaks, with a bit higher boost than stock, plenty of fuel, should be at the 265lb ft mark which is more than enough, with the new map it pulls very hard between 1800-2500rpm exactly where you want it.

I need to sort out my OSF wheel bearing as its humming from 40+mph now, not a job for me, and will probably get the front discs and pads replaced at the same time.

Yep still running great, straight through MOT on Friday, no advisories.

I shortened the actuator rod, didnt make much difference but spools harder and peak boost a little longer.

Peaks at 18psi, was around 16psi, drops back to 13psi over 3500rpm, basically the turbo is too small as its only fixed vane, there isnt alot you can do about that. Answer is fit a VNT to get the best of both worlds and bigger injectors, and decat it. But I'm happy with it as it stands so not going to play with it anymore now.

Not to hijack this but out if interest where would you get the bigger injectors and vnt obviously out of a higher out but van :) but any other models like a old tdci mondy or something i saw on the ned a guy needed a turbo for his tddi mondeo so he got hibrid internals 8) you dont see alot of tunning going on with the tddis and tdcis other than re maps :| bett they can make some good power :D

I would use Mk7 140 bits rather than Mondeo, as they ran different pumps to the newer Mk7 Transit, the turbo is a possibility assuming the electronic actuator can be operated via PCM. Would make much more sense to use 140PS and go from there.

Yeah I've seen it! Problem is no matter how much you tune, it will never be fast and 100% reliable at the same time. Apart from the fact it weighs significantly more than your average car! There was a tuned Mondeo Tdci with over 400lb ft and 260bhp, one of the most powerful out there using NOS, Water/meth injection etc and it still wasnt quicker than my ST220! Torque is great for everyday driving but to go fast I prefer outright bhp and a flat torque curve for flexibility, I get wound up by 'quick' diesels because they are so peaky, dont make a nice noise and leave you a bit numb!

Reliabilty is the downfall :( i havent had much expiriance with tunned diesels just like the idea of some of the vids and threads from the net :)
the mondeo prob only did about the same mpg as you st220 too

I didnt buy the 220 for economy though, which is the normal argument for buying a diesel! Mine will still do over 30mpg on a run and sound awesome so its worth every penny.
