My Mk 1 broke down today the AA recoved it for me said it was iler the petrol pump or the cam. I have a spare cam but know pump can you still get these new? If not what else fits or does any one have one

wardy is your dizzy turning when you turn the engine over?????
also what is the end of the pump looking like????
a old trick of the trade was to refit the pump with a very thing gasket this will bring the pump closer to the cam gear that drives it!

Yes mate the dizzy is turning why would that make a differnce? By the end of the pump do you mean the top of it? If so it as a in and a out pipe.

He means the bit that runs the pump off the cam, if it is worn then you can try as he says a thinner gasket.

I have took it and tryed in my hand there seems to be good suction and blowing I wonder if its the cam How would I go about testing that

i have attached two pictures below the cam I just took of is the top one. Please let me know if you think the end looks ok or not as I dont know what i am looking for
