awesome work TT,in the interest of that paint a few coats of clear cant hurt.theres allways some ratbag who thinks they can scratch into your hard work.its easier to polish out minor marks on clear.my van had 8 coats of clear when we sprayed it.its lasted well but is lifting in places i think my prep work was not perfect.good job TT 8) 8)

Last night I managed to tint thr rear glass and refit it. Been out once to Hertford late last night (Dad's Taxi :D ) Heard someone say "Wow! Rainbow!!"

Here's a pic of the back with the glass in and bumper on but not yet fixed properly to the rear arch:

If it doesnt rain tonight I will start flatting/polishing. Cheers, TT

Really does look good just need to do the wheels. How about circles in different colours? maybe spiralling.

Right, no more pictures and lets shut this thread down. Its too embarrassing for those of us who have trouble getting the lid of aerosol cans, never mind painting multi colours :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks for all your kind comments :!:

I had a practise at flatting and polishing tonight. The paint on the right has been wet flatted and polished with G3 compound, the tailgate is as before.

Probably due to the spray gun or my spraying, the whole finish is a bit "orange peel" Do I risk flatting the paint more and cutting into primer, or just stick with the rather nice shine I have managed to get already? Any ideas welcomed...

(I'll add the pics when Photobucket lets me)

If you have a nice shine I would stick with that unless you know that the primer is 100% flat as if the orange peel is also in the primer you will rub through before you get it totally flat, it would be a real shame to spoil all that hard work.

if your using 1500 grit and youve put thick coats on you can flat that down plenty yet mate  or even try on a spot not noticable that you can touch up after to see how far you can go but ive turned alot worse than that around :)
