I've done it again and bought an old fordie, 40 year old Ford Transit Camper van
Its no looker yet, and body work needs a good tidy up, its generally solid, rear floor is well hard!!!
Back of the van, with homemade camper conversion
After half an hour with a hammer inside was removed, floor lifted and OMG!!!!
A concrete floor!!
thankfully the bodywork and cementing skills of the guy how built it weren't as good as his woodworking
Its a weak batch so is scraping of easily
Grandson and great great great grandad
Plans are to remove the 2.0 pinto 4 speed box, fit a 2.5 Di and 5speed Mt75 box, (if i can find a Di Turbo would fit that) looking for the front axle and stubs from a mk2 transit to get some brake discs up front, might send wheels away to get them banded 2/3inches wider. Side windows are going to be removed and converted back to a van, with a simple 1970's retro paint job. Oh and a towbar
All the concrete removed from the rear floor, ready for a clean up paint and 2 small plates
2.0 pinto removed and engine bay cleaned up
2.5di dummy fitted going to be removed again to paint engine bay
Bulkhead and floor modification
Left front outrigger and step was bit rotten so out it came
step and outrigger replaced just outer sill and floor to finish
bit rusty round the screen
side windows removed and new metal welded in place
