About 5 months ago I brought a Transit with the intention of using it for towing but that little light came on upstairs and my brain kicked in about doing a conversion on it this is the progress ive made so far

To date the walls and ceiling has been cladded with the same facing cladding that ive used on the cupboard doors and stained light oak with a yatch varnish top coat...the kitchen sink has running water (cold) and full disposal tank out of view... i still have to get the 240 volts fitted up and a twin passenger seat fitted to the front can as its just a single..all the cooker works so can have a cup of tea and a slice of toast. After thats done i can then start on the outside doing the little bit of body work and a complete repaint..im also working on putting some type of fancy graphics down the sides of the van

Ive never done anything like this before but the cost of it was really appealing..i paid £500 for the van and the conversion has set me back £160 so its been a very cheap project and will come in handy when the weather warms up as i do a lot of shooting and fishing

Where did you get your seat cushions bud? I'm about to start converting my Mk6 and want to get that exact type of seats in it?

Hi sorry about the delay in getting back to you but had no internet connection..thanks BT........ ok my van hasnt got the 240 volts in i didnt think there was any need for it as the sites i normally stay on have everything...... the gas side of things and the water i done myself and had the gas checked out by a gas fitter m8 of mine everything there is running fine and safe.
My van as you might well remember in an earlier post i said it was going to be in for a colour change...this job is well under way now...any rust has been treated (there was only the odd places about the size of a 10 p piece) mainly on the wheel arches other than that the vans quite free of rust..the sills might need replacing towards the end of 2007 though..anyhow ive rubbed all the body work down and have used a stopper over the entire body to get an extra fine finish on it.
Im going to paint it in Tekaliod and im virtually at the stage now where im thinking about applying the undercoat.... ive decided probably to use the bright red Poppy colour this will in turn be set off by newly painted bull bars in black..possibly chrome wheel trims and some type of graphics down the sides although ive still not decided on the grapics it will probably be a dolphin leaping out of water or possibly a tiger!!..im continuing taking pics of the whole job and as soon as shes ready for the raod in her nice new colours will upload any pics ive got of her new paint job...Cant wait to see it.Ive preped the body by hand and its been a really hard job thats probably taken me longer than it should have.
