Small progress already taken place.
Re-fitted the radio, put wiring for the handsfree mic, replaced the headlights switch to support front fog lights.
Put some sound-proofing panels into the sliding door, cleaned up the plastic cover, put some double-side tape to make it not crunching, prepared new cover foil and finally put the original lining. Done
I did 1000km over the last 4 days and couple of things are interesting:
1) the roof over the first row of seats (driver/passenger) is the source of noise when closing doors; it's like a jello. Interesting - most probably the roof cross member over B pillars does not exists (rather not possible) or it is not holding the roof panel at all (more reasonable explanation). This way or another I have to get off the roof lining and cover roof with sound proofing panels. The roof lining pegs are holding like a hell so I have to order new and simply cut off existing ones.
Does anyone know if these should be same as for Mk5? Currently I have one-piece pegs and they don't look like original ones.
2) when the engine is running, there are constant clicks that can be clearly heard from outside every 10-30 seconds. It sounds similar to a broken plastic gear or a very hot exhaust pipe getting colder. Doesn't matter the engine is cold or hot. Have no idea what's that.
3) The rear blower is working only for hot air, when set to cold (there is no AC in the rear, only heating), nothing is getting through the roof nozzles. Strange.
4) Doesn't matter if I turn on or off the front AC, the air is always cold like with the AC turned on. Annoying.
5) Most probbaly the EGR needs to be blinded - when putting the pedal to the metal sometimes it's thinking a little bit to long and after a second or two it's starting to accelerate properly. No engine check or other warnings, just sometimes it's a little bit too lazy
I have to learn that van, definitely.
