After spending mpst of today turning the offsode chassic from rust to chrome ;)

ive applied the first coat of tetroseal. I didnt heat it first as many have done as I found its consistency perfect for ramming into all the nooks and crannies, with a cheapo wilko brush.

Heres the offside nearly complete and ready for underseal

Will take some pics tomorrow before applying second coat.

Then I need to make a start on the drivers side as I have found some rot which will need welding or cutting out. Happy times!!

So the last few weeks have been pretty hectic but managed to fix the ABS and have done a bit more work with the chassis:-

2nd coat of underseal dried and looking good.

Some more chassis cleaned up:-

Getting there slowly, the back end looks pretty rotten out so will probably require quite a bit of welding :/

That's not rot its just surface rust where was your van built.

Looks too clean for a Southampton van. N

The back end is flaking quite badly lol ill get some poctures for you. She is a Southampton build, but your right its quite clean underneath. Think the build up of mud helps!

Cheers guys, im alsp in the middle of rebuilding a house so time for the van is something I dont have a lot of haha. :(

My step dad is going to do the welding for me, which is awesome as at the end of it I will own a welder and have a year to practice techniques before next years MOT :-)

More pics coming soon :-)

So the last couple of weeks have been absolutely manic!

However i decided to pick up a mig 140 welder and take a hammer to all loose chassis parts :D :D

The result:-

20160718_170100.jpg

Shaped up some 1.6mm and stuck a few bits back together

The driver side sill was pretty rotten, a big repair.

Made up some box section for the passenger side middle sections and one on the rear next to the spring hangar.

Once again things are as hectic as always, however ive been at it like a headless chicken and things are really starting to take form :)

Managed to get her through MOT. Took quite a bit of work but i think it was worth it as she drives like a dream and returns 25-30mpg, depending wether the wife is in the passenger seat or not

Insulated the floor and put some carpet down, only cheapo but it will do for now. I'm sure er indoors will cover the place in 'orrible lady stuff.

Also removed the existing ply lining and insulated behind their too :)

20161017_155108.jpg

El cheapo base unit from Wickes with some 12.5mm ply for a worktop, insert power tools and a brew...

The bed frame is made of 2 x 4, wife is a big lass :) just a simple frame with 5.5mm ply screwed to the top.

I ended up adding a middle support to the bed, but i haven't got a picture of that yet.

20161017_203118.jpg

With some remaining plywood i easily made some doors for the storage under the bed. Again cheap and cheerful but they seem to work for now.
The base unit has now had its legs removed, as im 5ft 9" i was a bit hunched using the worktop.

Proof that women can't leave anything alone ^.^ :)

More pics to come as everything's had a good clean...
