Ooh brown :D

Ohh fancy reed relay (although it looks like witch craft to me, it'll never catch on), hey indulge me would you pls, I've had a thought, can you wire just the relay up first because I'm wondering if it switches faster than my shitty standard ford 1, it is possible that it may switch in time to operate the mirrors.

Be cool if it does, would save adding the other bits and help others 8)

I never considered that  i just took what i had available and shoved it in there

I have a conundrum that you pair of electrical wiz kids might be able to solve for me,

Right so on me car there is two fuses 1 for right hand side lights and 1 for left hand side lights, now if I put a fuse in for the left had side lights it blows instantly * but if I put a wire in where the fuse goes and run it to a switch with an inline fuse it doesn't blow the fuse. Any ideas why it does or doesn't if that makes sense

* it only blows the fuse when the lights at switched when the fuse is in the fuse box

Many thank N

Not a clue

I can only guess at a short in the fuse bit, have you looked behind it?, also if you bridge it and have a fuse further down the 'spur off' have you waited to see if the bridge gets hot?

Should just be, bussbar to fuse then from the fuse to the output (sidelight) then to ground.
You could have a short anywhere from the fuse to the earth.

Also possible that you may have a splice after the fuse somewhere so something else could be messing it up.

You need a wiring diagram to show the way Ned.
Have you got tis disk?

What's a tis disc? The problem all started when the boot loom melted (new loom soldered in) think I might pull the fuse box out  I just couldn't understand why it doesn't blow the fuse on the wire, its a basic wire from one fuse pin to a fuse (same amp as it should be) to a switch and back to the other fuse pin, but blows the fuse when put direct in the fuse box, ah well just another job on the to do list :D N

Ah right lol i missed that bit

I can only think of a short at the fuse connector.
Maybe the switch and extra wire is protecting the fuse from a spike?

One can only guess, is it the correct amperage fuse? Guessing yes since it'll match the other side. You could feed a single wire to the sidelight bulb from the fuse.

Is the fuse just for the 1 sidelight only? I had to link a Sierra sidelight from left to right once :?

No the faulty one does left side front n rear side lights, no plate lights and dash lights where the other one (the good one) does right front n rear side lights and something else that I cant remember.

The extra wire protection from spike makes sense I dinny think of that bloody nazi wiring, I'll have a play with it this weekend when I get back from your country and make it 10x worse  N
