I have it back, just got in.

They programmed my spare key and the mastertech told me he did a pilot learn on the injectors.(euro 5)

He said i need to drive it 600 miles to quieten it fully.
Woody is still present and i can't tell if he's any quieter, I'll see in the morning when i drive it to chester and let you know.

My question tho is the noise is singular not x4 so to me it is a fault not the fuel trim. 6800 miles and 1 injector/piston/valves is knocking, I can't see how a pilot learn can correct it, i expect 4 knocking for it to be fuel trim.

Result?
Didn't get charged tho.

Feeling indifferent :-(

Ps. Can anyone else hear their turbo spooling? It isn't loud but without the radio going or knocking i can hear it, high pitch spooling sound.

When I start my van it's like a bag of spanners and it's better with the stereo on.

Hopefully mine will sort itself, wouldn't mind but when i lessen the revs you think someone died because you absolutely can't hear the engine, slight revs and it's there, only 1 of them so he has no friends.

When i live data it number 2 injector showed 1115 and the other 3 showed 999 (thereabouts).

Yes I hear my turbo spooling as its quite close (so to speak) to the firewall/windscreen, its about the only thing on my van that sound right. N

Thanks ned lol i was hoping someone with a new euro 5 could tell me :-(

Funnily my mk6 didn't make a sound until mot time when i had to floor it for 5 mins to blast all the black soot out of the exhaust to pass emissions, then i could hear the turbo

Well i took it for a run this am, as expected the knocking was loud and clear, it is at about 3rd throttle 1900rpm you have to tease it until the knocking becomes prominent and gets louder, you can Rev through it if you floor the engine but it still can be heard just that the engine sounds rough too like all fwd.

I got halfway there about 15 min 6 miles in traffic and all of a sudden i thought the engine was teleported out of the front, i couldn't hear a bean, nothing, i revved it and nursed it but i honestly heard fook all except tyres on the road and the faintest hum from the front. Got to the dentist was in there 15 min and jumped on and drove home, engine still quiet toll halfway home then i could nurse the knocking back if i drove super carefully, it was there but nearly not there just a slow knock knock knock at the above revs.

Not too sure what the tech did but he said a pilot learn (blown if i know where that is but I'll investigate when i get back on ids  )
The oil i put in the van was from quicko, castrol magnatec with Ford logos on it, does anyone know if the first oil in the transit is special in that it keeps the parts lubricated and me replacing it was why it is noisy? (Straws)

I think the only way to get to the sound is in gear driving and a load on the wheels, only idea i have is somewhere where they have a rolling road, strap it down and use a scope to listen to the knock, it is a single knock which means 1 injector or 1 rocker etc.
Could even be a poor fuel map in the pcm :?

Now you mention that mine gets a little noisy around 1900 rpm ? weirdly i just tend not to hold the revs there and either drive through it or hold the throttle under the point where its noisy.

Think its always been like that and im on 105000 now.Cheap ish oil so serviced every 10k fingers crossed bin ok so far?

You listening for problems that dont exist?
