Fook it's hot and I nearly gave up on the crock of what's it.
I appear to got mk2 folding mirrors done! I added a standard Reed switch to the mirror so the switch is inside and when the mirror is folded, the magnet is inside and bridges the switch, this gives us a circuit when folded and no circuit when open. So the idea is, the capacitor switch is on the same circuit but like the electric windows the output floats.
So we used 2 standard diodes and I basically created an ignore circuit, with the mirror folded and the Reed switch bridged and we diode the circuit so it can flow unrestricted in 1 direction. But when the lock button is activated then the power wants to travel the other way and so the diode circuit ignore it and stops power flow.
I used 2 diodes and a combination of methods and was just about to spit my dummy and blow me it worked!
What was happening was you lock the door and the mirror folded closed but if you pressed lock again it would unfold. This caused a problem unless you locked twice for deadlock then opened, if you single locked then unlocked, the mirror would be in the wrong position.
Now though i press unlock and the mirror unfolds, if I press unlock again nothing happens because the Reed switch is open circuit, if I lock it nothing but if I deadlock it it folds closed as expected.
What a load of arse! Why didn't Ford have this as an option
I've a few pictures but it isn't a how too, there's only 2 of us that have it so meh
