Few update pics to post, the drivers wing inner and outer arch and front crosember are now all welded in and seam sealed, ive also made up some brackets/bars for the mk4 grill too
Ive rebuilt the rear brakes on the mk3 axle with new shoes, cylinders and spring kit and also have new copper brake pipes to fit when shes on her side again. :D
Ive also had some tyres put on the rear rims to make sure they will fit before I get them redrilled (just incase they had to be returned) but as It happens they are bang on and I must say look the absolute nuts!

Cheers! happy how they look, although its sat a bit low due to saggy springs and a load of other stuff stored in the back atm!
The wheels are 17"x9 with a -25offset, my 16s in the same style will be going on the front too when finished :)

Evening all just thought it was time for an update as its been a couple of weeks, drivers side rear arch is now chopped out, new welded in and has the filler on. It still needs some fettling but its getting there.
The wheels are drilled/welded and ive started to paint 1 up.
The floor is also now completely finished and has a healthy coat of red oxide and seam sealed as is the drivers side sill.
Shes now rolled onto her side again for inner sill repairs and rear inner quarter.
Anyway a few pics as usual :D

Few update pics,

THE WELDING IS FINISHED!!!

The underside/floors have been descaled and lathered in red oxide the treated to some dinitrol cavity wax and underseal black wax.
Shes now back on her wheels and ive been working on the bodywork on the drivers rear.
A few goodies have also arrived the bends for my stainless manifolds have arrived, some pipe lengths have arrived im going for just 1 single 2.5inch system with single back box and ive fitted a snap off steering wheel boss as it was a little close to the indicator stalks so also acts as a spacer
Tramp bars are also fitted 8)

Let the rebuild begin!

Great work again, you (and others) keep mentioning Red Lead, is it available again or is it a inferior substitute like the one for Creosote? I am down to my last 2gal of REAL red lead.

Abh I couldn't give you a stright answer on that, I "acquired" it from 1 of my previous employers and has been sat in my garage for nearly 4yrs!
I painted the chassis on my discovery with it a while back with the intention of doing the same as the van but never got round to it but to say its just had that 1 coat its weathered quite well.
It did thin down with thinners quite easily so maybe It was a tin of "old skool" red lead it was from an industrial paint suppliers originally.
