I'm hoping so. Still a way off from being ready for it's MOT.

All those bits are the common areas and when you go looking for rust on a mk6 you end up fabricating up loads. Good work so far. I bought some bits and made others and also chopped the bits from mk7's in the breakers

I've not bothered looking about in the scrappers yet. There was a bloke local to me that was breaking one on eBay but everything I asked for he said was rotten.

I did a bit more to my van today. It's a bit tedious grinding in a shared car park when it's blowing a gale. I'm not even supposed to be using the car park as it's for the houses behind me but our lasses mother lives in one so... sod anyone who complains.

Here's what I did today. I stripped the rot from the drivers side wheel arch and fabricated a new piece to slot on.

I will wait for Doris to blow over before doing anymore work on it. :D

keep the pics coming fella. as a newbie to welding my self found the way you made those panels in pieces first before welding very interesting. watched loads of stuff on utube but they often don,t show how the made the repair piece before welding it up. gramps.

I'll try. Sometimes my hands are a bit too dirty to mess about with my phone.

Cracking job there mate, mk6 vans rust everywhere so its gonna keep you busy. Whats the inner sills like? Theyre normally mostly disintegrated on a mk6 of that age, also the front wings, inner and outer

The passenger side was ok. The underside of the outer sill had a 10 inch by 2 inch hole in it. The drivers side looks ropy as hell on the outside but not rotted through but the inside has a fairly large hole that I'll be tackling after this arch is finished.

I finished the other wheel arch today. The rear of the van is now fully welded! :D
I just have the drivers side inner sill and inner wing left to weld. I want to go over the inner arches with white Hammerite to give it a little extra protection and to make it look better.

This is the piece I made up the other day. It fitted a lot better than the one on the other side.

My welding still isn't great but it's strong enough.

I coated this side in panel sealer. I have loads and I just thought sod it and went over it all. I'm not sure if that's gonna enough protection but it seems a lot better than the underseal that I have.

I like the finish of this seam sealer so I think I'll do all the other arches in this and go over it all with Hammerite.

Had a nosy about the scrappers today and bagged myself a wing and some glossy scuttle panel covers and side bits. I also noticed my dash insert was broken so I got one of those along with the rear interior lights and a wheel brace.
I wanted to get loads of stuff but it started pouring it down and the van was in a deep muddy puddle and I started feeling fed up after getting the wing off.

I've seen some seats I want. Does anyone know what work is involved in fitting Mk4 Mondeo Titanium X seats in a MK6 Transit?

The wing I bought was a bit worse than I first thought. I just decided to repair it and use it for now as it's in far better condition than the one fitted and, I wanted a little bit of practice with bodywork before tackling some of the other issues on my van.

Other than the run, I think the painting came out ok. Once I've sorted the run out and it's flatted and buffed, I think it will leave a decent finish.

Today I did the drivers side inner wing and inner arch. It's not the prettiest of jobs but it'll do. ImageImageImageImageImage

Just one small strip on the inner sill left to do then that's it for the welding.

Jebus that's some rust  Hope mine ain't that bad  Thought you would have welded the front wing instead of fibreglass, look all right though.
