My 24v rebuild

Postby Guy88 » Sun Jul 22, 2007 9:56 pm

As i am between vans i have decided to give the 24v a rebuild.

Main bits are

Rings
Shells
Chain guides
Chain
Oil pump
Net chain tentioner
Clean all tappits
Grind valves
New gaskets throughout
BOB cams

Im sure there will be some more

I started at 7.30 tonight and by 8.15 i had got it this far. Got the other head off now 8) 8)

One thing iv got to find is how water is getting in. No2 inlet was brim full with water   None in the plenum luckily the valves were closed.

Also the condensation has started to rust the cams but i have caught it just in time

And iv finally found the Dipstick  Only been 3 months

Yeah, no offence meant. Thought I'd get in there first.

taking that engine to bits looks fun. putting it back together would be the tricky bit for me :P Good Luck, Top work.
