so I went from a quick rub down and repaint, to bare metal the bugger, dress the welds and a quick etch prime for now till I decide on a colour, new discs turned up today aswell.

next step, wheel and the shafts off the the machine shop for a trim off the spigot rings as the wheels wont fit on the shafts, on the lookout for a 3.9 cwp if anyones got one
cheers.

forgot to mention, got me front arches aswell, why is it, panel suppliers have started coating repair panels in galv, not lookin forward to fitting them at all, might have to attack them with the sand blaster first, welding galv coated panels is gonna be proper sh*t
was gonna get the van out today, but in all this snow it will just rust away faster
bugger

the wheels on my van were chrome weller wheels, the front are 6 inches wide, 14 inch diameter and the rears are 7 inches wide and 14 inches in diameter, the front tyres are 185 55 14 and on the rear they are 225 40 14. the chrome had gone rusty so I cleaned then up primered them with 2 pack and painted them black.
cheers
browny.

Hello again!!
I buy these wheels but the rear wheel is to bigger, so the sliding side door hits on the tire.
What is the ET of your rims?

back in rusty transit mode, the red oxide and the grey paint I used on the offside reacted with each other and went soft, so I had to thinners it off and start again
DSCN1628.JPG

so I mixed up some epoxy primer and brushed it on
DSCN1634.JPG

cut the arch off the other side, inners are rustier than the offside
DSCN1639.JPG

removed the leisure battery tray to clean up underneath it
DSCN1643.JPG

found a hole in the spring hanger, so made a repair to that aswell
more soon.

my new wings had some surface rust on them, so got the da out with some 80 grit discs and bare metaled both of them, then gave the a blast with the grit blaster then another go with the da, then primed them up with 2k epoxy primer

managed to get the wing fitted today so its lookin van like again, also a while ago I fitted Subaru front seats, at the time I also got the rear seat and removed the cover with the idea that we would use it to recover the double seat that's in the back of the van so they all match, tracy the trimmer has made a start over the last couple of days
20171231_154752.jpg

takes ages just strippin the old covers off, and taking the Subaru cover apart so it can be assembled to fit the transit seat, its getting there, cheers wifey
