Hey... I dont mind doing a bit of welding as long as its not the van...... As i absolutely, positively, without a doubt hate welding vehicles.....cant stand it....

I like working in a clean environment.

Unless you buy those new back doors off me... then i might do i bit, i guess.....although, maybe not... cos i hate it...

catch you later....

Hey Spudmab....

....what are the seats like to sit in?

The seats are good and comfortable to sit on. Ive been in a Galaxy a few times and always thought the seats were good. There are different types of MK1 Galaxy seats, I've got the ones that not only swivel around but also go up and down a few inches and the base also tilts. So, because they are adjustable all i need to do is fix them roughly in the right place and then they can adjust to fit you. The only problem is, the Galaxy seat in a Galaxy bolt to the floor as they are like a car and the van needs seats that are raised so you can sit higher and use the steering wheel properly. So you make a raiser to go in between the Galaxy seats and the Transit floor. I made mine out of stainless cos thats what i had lying around.

....are they as good as they look?

The MK2 Galaxy ones are even better, thay also look a lot better because they use a much better and more modern cloth. But of course, they also cost a lot more too.

Galaxy seats are also used in the other similar MPV's like the VW Sharon's and the Seat (lamarbera....or what ever its called)....

You can use the ones out of an Renault Espace, they are also used a lot in home built campers.

Cheers for the compliments...

....Ugh???.. i was thinking the same about your build...great motor in there...thought your van was fantastic...and i luv the grey you've just sprayed it. I was only thinking last night when i saw your build photos including the grey spray job that perhaps i should do mine again but this time with grey.

Hey Madmark...

That does make sense. Also, there are a lot of professional camper maufactures starting to produce their vans in a light silver. I guess white, cream and beige cmpaervans are becoming a thing of the past.... But its very rare to see one in a dark colour.. maybe, its as you say, its because of the heat.

cheers madmark..
