Needs work to the steps, outer sills and bottom of side door.Drivers side front spring hanger also needs attention.Otherwise good.

It came with a 1600 xflow originally and is swb single wheel.

No have not done mounts yet.Any suggestions?
I was going to use the Granada rubber mounts and make brackets on the chassis to suit.(pictures at last)
Also I am going to make s/s manifolds.

dont know if you know but the engine sits off to the right (as you look at the van in the pic) so the engine mounts are unequal lengths with factory mounts, i only found that out when i got some factory mounts for mine :D
if your confident with welding then making a pair isn't too difficult they sit ok in the chassis mounts - i made a jig to copy the factory mounts and made these but if you sit the engine in place you could bolt the plates to each bit then tack in the gussets remove it and fully weld up :D

Hi Luke
Thanks for the interest
engine in and mounted.Steps done.spring hanger done.
just fitting the exhaust at the moment.
I was looking at the hub adaptors as i want 5x112 but my hub splits and has an extra row of bolts to hold the outer flange on. Will this make it difficult to make adaptors or can I redrill this flange to suit my pcd?

Also I am going to decamber my leaf spring to lower it. Is this ok?

Thanks

with mk1/2 it's easy just unbolt the hub split it from the disk take out all the bearings and take it to a machine shop ask for 5 holes at 1/2" dia 112mm pcd and counterbored 20mm dia 5 mm deep from the back
then have the 5 holes that hold the disk on counter bored aswell replace the disk retaining bolts with 5 M10x30 allen cap head bolts
you'll need to but 5 new studs (each side) - get them from rally design about £1.50 each

it should look like the pic i'm about to post - except ive welded up the old holes - you dont need to do that if you dont want :D

yes or have new springs mad - have a look at bez's progress report for the price it was a better deal to have new springs made :D

pic of a mk1/2 hub redrilled 112x5

Image

oh forgot you'll also need a boss adapter that fits over the centre boss and enlarges it to the centre bore of whatever wheel you have (112's are all different) :D

Have you any thoughts on the altenator.I was going to widen the bottom hole to allow me take up the slack of the belt as I am losing the tensioner and power steering pulley.
Also is power steering available for my van? :)
