started beavertail on existing chassis out of 4x2 box and start making my pull out towbarImage
Image
towbar clamped in place ready to make plates to support towbar
Image
as you can see ive cut square out of plate to tie it in nicely
Image
now just wants welding up :)
Image
Image
as you can see added more strengtheners better be safe than sorry :(
Image
also bolted existing holes and welded near chassis
Image
also had little plates made for body souls to rest on then can weld them on
Image
Image
welded plates on extension so can bolt on body souls

did i mention steel came
Image
Image
so can start body now
1st i bought 5x2 galv c channel for souls
Image
so they running front down beavertail to the back
Image
then cut angle and welded up an welded every bracket i bolted down previously
Image
my idea is to cut 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 out of channel so top of channel is finnished height
ready for sheets
to get my height i mesured from bump stops to axle
8 inches :?
4 inches from top of tyre to top of chassis
5 inch c channel
gives 9 inches
1 inch for mudguard
but should never be bottomed out my mk 6 has never bottomed out
and ive had some funny loads on it
well see what else i can get done this week hoping to have it looking like a body next weekend :D :D :D :D

Nice work yet again, You dont half get on with it quickly :)

Are you going to be painting or galvanising the new body?
