Hi fatboy av had a few days on it this week and I wish to god I'd just went with the 5 speed box as it would of been completely finished by now!! Problem after problem but I'll get there haha well just for reference sake I tried a mk7 wing on and took pics just to show how far off they are....

Also the pics I took the other day are of my fabed up gearbox mount which to be fair I think I've overlooked a bit really using 15mm steel plate but never mind, also the hybrid gear selector box using transit outer box and Mondeo inner with cables etc courtesy of winters thread...

Goin to attempt the back mount tomorrow and cables selector bracket and after that I think she mite be ready for a test run....

i have seen a couple done now the cheap way is an easy job just messing about, my mate has just done his 2001 recovery last week looks nice on outide but id prefer it to look better under bonet but the conversion is that hard, lop a few inches fromt he flitches, fit new hinges to the top, new brackets for rad etc

Hey all sorry for not updating for a while been having a right mare with it. I have changed all wiring so the van is now running St management but the looms just all over the place at the minute as the Mondeo engine loom plugs to a car opposite side to the van etc but I'm getting there

Also have pulled injectors AGAIN to have them refurbed by a good reputable specialist even though I'm not sure if I'm pissing in the wind as I've already had them checked elsewhere and carried a full leak off test and they passed with flying colours but we shall wait and see....

Plus point is I should be receiving my wheels back tomorrow after been refurbed

Just keep checking peeps as per the little jiggles I have left the engine conversion is near done I'm just struggling to find time to put into it at the min

Still lookin into mk7 dash but just takin it one step at a time

Apples not been funny but after lookin how far the mk6 inner wings are away from the mk7 wings the conversion would look an absolute abortion without the mm7 inner wings I just can't see how it could be done to a high standard and for the sake of £80 for the inner wings from ford brand new I don't think it's alot of money for a much better job IMO

I was hoping to see someone whos done a Dash converstion, I wanna see how to get around the gear stick being on the dash, But i am thinking of having the front changed on mine but im taking it to a body shop, Also I heard you have to change the fuse box, Modify the radiator brackets and wire the indicators up, Sounds complicated, so I hope you give loads of info mate, And look foward to seeing it complete, And where did you get those sport wheels from?, I would like a set of those but I think there expensive. And How much did you pay for the front? Also will changing the front effect insurance? Sorry about all the questions :S

to be honest the bodge on his is the hinges for bonnet as you buy new ones to fit at top and they have to sit a fair few mm higer and hes just welded his and not even made an effort to atleast seam seal in the sides and paint to look pretty.

his flitches themselves look ok, yes he had to make a few brackets up but he got the job done with changing no flitches etc, if you got under his bonnet and spent an hour or so to tidy it up it would look ok to be honest

well injectors have came back with a clean bill of health AGAIN!!

next thing is tidy the loom up and do some wiring and try it out on the road and try and run it in as at the minute its only been run for a total of about half an hour so we'll see how she behave and what she drives like..... watch this space haha

yeah sorted starting problem the pats relay was missing out the fuse box

Hi all well been side tracked with me new toy but I've also gettin quite a bit done to my van,,

Well I've sorted out the running problems as it all boiled down to running a St engine loom and a transit bay loom and having the Egr valve and boost solenoids plugged into the engine loom rather than the bay loom...

Also as you can probably see I have the sport wheels fitted but have left the mk6 front on until I've done a few hundred miles to run the engine in to make sure everythings ok

Well up to now every thing seems mint I'm dying to put me fit Dow but dare not until it's run in considering the van hasn't been over 2200rpm it's no slouch just tickling the throttle it flys along!!! Pobably equivalent to thrashing a 100ps!!!

Also I've already made the call to Martin (Vantuner) and he's game for a full power map!!! Can't wait for that like!!!!

Think I'm goin to fit Mondeo clocks tomorrow as nothing works on the transit ones bar the fuel gauge was debating to fit gte 16v clocks (digi) but I'm sure the pats runs through the clocks so might do more bad than good?? And I don't think my snap on scanner taped to the dash running live data looks that good haha
