Mine are off to James this week after a wait of 7 months. Any special measures required when fitting the tyres on?

i think you need wider tyres there mate
if you clip a kerb it will be the end of the tyre

8) Look forward to seeing what you do with the rest of the van.

Guessing you'll be spacing out the runner for the side door :?:

luke.. with a slight flair the tread will be with'in the arch, exactly what I was hoping for :D

familybanger.. didn't really measure anything, kinda just went for it.. the ol nerves were going when the tyres were delivered and I had a chance to compare them to the wheels.. but I think they've turn out spot on..
one thing, the 'hairspray' 'starter fliud' trick isn't the way to inflat stretched tyres.. to dangerous! we used a proper compressed air canister.

mk1van.. these were the highest load rated tyre I could find in this size, its no longer a working van, only a small camper interior etc, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

alann... hahah thanks

dodgy01.. I'm a pretty carefull driver where curbs are concerned, in all my years driving I've hit them twice or so.. (just scuffs) haha.. no but really, I hear what your saying, but again, I think I'll be fine..

and familybanger.. I was thinking of a gullwing side loader   haha... we'll see..

only real progress is I now have my windows!
cheers for the comments lads!

hi all, got a little update..
found out about the Gaydon ford weekend on friday just gone.. thought to myself would have been cool to rock up in the twink.. but, to much to do, to little time..
anyhow.. saturday, 5:30 pm... got the urge to get a bit done..
so, grabbed my axle from work and set about it.. plan? lower and fit rims..
I was pretty much flat out on it so didn't get many pictures.. but heres a few

old axle out, new one ready to go in..

this was a 'test run' with the wheels before I bolted everything up... altho you can't see it in the picture, once the front was sorted the arch set on the tyre with the axle on the bump stops.. not good, so I made some longer adjustable spring hangers (7am sunday morning in my downstairs toilet so as not to bother the neighbours haha) yhe fronts were easy, just 2.5 coils off job done...

anyhow, I ended up with this..

proper happy with the outcome..

plans now are to get the interior done (maybe) for transitmania...
