Postby nila » Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:09 am

hi again everyone dont know if anyone remebers me, but started in the hello thread quite a while back .quike recap bought lwb van was going to turn into minibus at the time had 5 kids another 1 on the way ,started own bussiness ,never started on van instead swaped for a motorbike as van needed to much work to get how i wanted it.

the old van.
then after dropping some bussiness cards of at local nursery asked them about there old buses and what do they do with them when they replace with new ones (THEY JUST SCRAP THEM)sinners.anyway they had 2 in they yard that where going to scrap heaven ,looked at the 2 and found one that sort of caught my eye .offered them £300 and they said yes .so went home feeling very pleased jsut got me self an m reg 15 seater they bought it from new so full service history all receipts for work done still taxed but out of m.o.t in jan 2011.waited fir the phone call to go and fetch as they had to move a few others out of the way first to get to her but could only do that when nursery was closed .so very excited went round with 300 notes in hand went to start her and dead not even a dashboard light not a problem was told they had jumpleads so popped bonnet only to find that some scm had pinched the battery so had to wait untill following day to sort battery out .didnt mess about up at 7 took kids to school straight to romac for battery was told £75 but with my discount £46 .jumped in taxi told the lady how much battery was and showed her the receipt the £75 one and she took it of price cant say better then that.
put battery on and she started first time lovely .

that is the worst of it .if anyone noticed that on first picture of drivers door there where a few little rust spots well after sanding back to bare metal to check how far it had spread it was literaly surfice rust .so bargain van at amzing price and been looked after and polished every weekend .just got to get meself another welder as mine went bang on the last van i had on the road that was a total rebuild of metal ,think by the time i had finished it the only origanal part on it was the bonnet.will keep updated with picts as i work on van .

Don`t know, but I think think the forum could be missing out on advertising income.

Surely with all those stickers, you will never see a rust spot again!!

What was the point of putting the signs on the bus if it needs painting??
Also whats the chassis like underneath?

underneath is spot on no rot anywhere a few flaky bits of the underseal which ill sort out and redo and the signs are only on the doors and im not spraying the whole van just touching it up so no where near the signs and as said only put them on as having photos taken of work that i have done for flyers

right done a list of jobs for the inside .
firstly still waiting for log book to come back from dvla ,hopefully it doesnt state how many seats are fitted ,one sent off didnt so should come back the same .
only wanting 9 seats ,changing front pasenger 2 seater to a single ,
then going to partion behind driver/pasenger seat top to bottom with doorway in the middle
then on the sides speakers and flat screan telly each side so pasengers happy in the back.
as theres a lot of room at the bottom of the partion going to have subs at the bottom with the boxes cab side behind the seats.
black out windows.
fit reversing camera and screen up front ,screan being fitted roof height in pod ,camera going in rear spoiler.
not sure how seats in back are going even though its lwb theres not much legroom between the seats but still want a big boot area for camping gear ,quad bike and stuff.
redo all the rear panels with carpet ,got the plastic crap on thats all torn .
do round the metal bits round windows with same carpet.
also putting small hight board up behind last row of rear seats stops shoping and stuff ratling round the floor under seats.
then back to the outside seen on ebay a front bar that goes just round the bottom of the front bumper in chrome might graft the top of an a bar to the middle but lower it a bit but got to decide on what front bumper to have been looking at the nissan s14 as they are squareish on the corners wont take much to make fit.
now the bonet not sure at the mo ,would like to do something with it but dont want a big bulg or scoop so looking at doing something at the back in the middle where the lower part is for the vent.
would like to do something with the wing mirrors but still looking.
thats about it for now i will take lots of pics and update as and when i do stuff. :D
